Function sequence
The switch position of the rotary light switch (S1s1) in the light switch module (S1) in the standing lamp "ON" position is read in by the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) via a discrete line. The front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) transmits, via the Controller Area Network bus class B (interior) (CAN-B), the message "Standing lamp ON" to the following control units:
^ Rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2)
^ Instrument cluster (A1)
^ Trailer recognition control unit (N28/1)

Via a discrete line, the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) actuates the following lamps:
^ Left standing and parking lamp (E1e3)
^ Right standing and parking lamp (E2e3)
^ Left front side-marker lamp (United States of America) (E6/1)
^ Right front side-marker lamp (United States of America) (E6/2)

Via a discrete line, the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) actuates the following lamps:
^ Taillamp and left parking lamp (E3e2)
^ Left front fog lamp and taillamp (E3e5)
^ Taillamp and right parking lamp (E4e2)
^ Right rear fog lamp and taillamp (E4e5)
^ Left rear side-marker lamp (United States of America) (E6/3)
^ Right rear right rear side-marker lamp (United States of America) (E6/4)
^ left license plate lamp (E19/1)
^ Right license plate lamp (E19/2)

Side markers for USA and Canada
The function requirements of the side markers are identical to the function requirements for the standing lamp illumination.

If the message "Standing lamp ON" is still active, an audible warning signal is triggered via the instrument cluster (A1) when the transmitter key (A8/1) is removed and the driver door is open.

With code (550) Trailer hitch, the message "Standing lamp ON" is transmitted by the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) to the trailer recognition control unit (N28/1), which actuates the trailer hitch socket (13-pin) (X58).
