^ The exterior lamp switch (S1s1) is in position "driving lamps ON" or "standing lamps ON"
^ The exterior lamp switch (S1s1) is additionally pulled out to its first detent position "front fog lamps ON"

Function
The front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) detects the signal "front fog lamps ON" via the exterior lamp switch (S1s1).

The front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) actuates the left fog lamp (E5/1) and the right fog lamp (E5/2). The green front fog lamp indicator lamp (S1e1) in the light switch module (S1) provides visual indication that the front fog lamps (left front fog lamp (E5/1) and right front fog lamp (E5/2)) are switched on.

High beam
The left front fog lamp (E5/1), the right front fog lamp (E5/2), the left high beam (E1e1) and the right high beam (E2e1) can be actuated at the same time. There are exceptions to this in the case of the following national versions .(United States of America) (Canada) With these versions, the actuation triggered first has priority.
