Introduction of New Oil Filter

A new oil filter (Fleece oil filter) will be phased into production for the above models vehicles. The new oil filter is available through our PDC's and must be ordered when performing an oil/filter change on the above models.

With the installation of the new oil filter and the use of oil with MB specification 229.5 only, the FSS initial setting on vehicles during the Maintenance Commitment Coverage period must be set at 13,000 Miles after the oil/filter change (initial setting on vehicles after the Maintenance Commitment Coverage period can be set at 13,000 Miles after oil/filter change).

If any other oil filter (for example PN 000 180 2209/2309) is used and/or oil with MB specification 229.5 is not available (oil with MB specification 229.3 is used), the initial FSS setting must be set at 10,000 Miles (default setting).

Note:
This change does not apply to AMG vehicles, adhere to respective service schedule for AMG. On engine 112.960/961 (170.466/203.065) and 113.990/991/992 (211.076/220.174/230.474), the oil change remains the same even when using a fleece oil filter.
