Remove/install oil spray nozzles (pistons)

Shown On Engine 112:

Remove/install

DANGER:
- Risk of fatal accident from vehicle slipping or toppling off the lift platform
- Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

1 Remove oil pan bottom section
2 Remove oil pan top section
3 Remove oil pump

NOTE: Installation:
- Check oil return shutoff valve is correctly seated.
- Clean strainer of oil pump.
- Fill oil pump with engine oil before installing so that oil is delivered when it is first started.

4 Remove oil spray nozzles (1)

NOTE:
- If necessary, rotate crankshaft slightly at belt pulley.
- Installation: Replace oil spray nozzles.
- It is important to ensure that the injection pipes (3) of the oil spray nozzles (1) are not bent when being installed.
- On Engine 112.960/961 observe version of oil spray nozzles.

Clean
5 Inspect and clean oil ducts

NOTE:
- Blow out oil ducts in flow direction of oil with compressed air.
- Do not use hard objects for cleaning.

6 Install in the reverse order.
