GF77.20-P-3004Q Tilting/Sliding Roof Obstruction Sensor, Function

GF77.20-P-3004Q Tilting/Sliding Roof Obstruction Sensor, Function
- with CODE (414) Power glass tilting/sliding roof
- except CODE (494) USA version
- except CODE (460) Canada version

Obstruction protection
The tilting/sliding roof is provided with an excess force limiter to protect against injuries from pinching body limbs. This function is active only during automatic closing and convenience closing of the sliding roof. Thereby the power consumption of the SR motor (M12m1) is monitored. An increased power consumption is evaluated as pinching. When pinching is recognized the titling/ sliding roof is reversed by actuating the SR motor (M12m1) with the overhead control panel control unit (N70) i.e. moved in the opposite direction to that which produced the pinching. If the tilting/ sliding roof is in the tilted position, it is moved to the upper tilting stop. The opened tilting/sliding roof is opened s=125 mm if it has a distance of more than s = 125 mm to the rear stop at the time of the pinching. If the tilting/sliding roof is closer to the rear stop, it is opened completely.

When the Hall sensors fail, it is ensured that the tilting/sliding roof is reversed within t 1 s when it is at least 150 mm from the rear stop. After this time the tilting/sliding roof will be denormalized if there are still no Hall pulses.
If the tilting/sliding roof is near the rear limit stop, it will be switched off immediately since no mechanical load may be placed on the stop.

Automatic opening/closing of the titling/sliding roof is not possible if the excess force limiter is defective.
