GF82.85-P-2011QMA TV-mode, Function
- with CODE (863) Digital/analog TV tuner
- with CODE (527) COMAND APS (with navigation)
TV-mode, function
After switching on the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3), TV reception is activated in the "TV" submenu. Television reception utilizes the LCD color screen of the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3), which in this case is active up to a vehicle speed of approx. 6 km/h. Only acoustic signals are output above this speed.
The audio signals are transmitted by the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST), the video signals are transferred via a separate Composite Video Burst Sync. (CVBS) line to the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3). The audio signals are amplified in the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) and the stored sound settings (e.g. bass, treble) are implemented.
If the vehicle is also equipped with a sound amplifier (A2/13) (with code (810) Sound system), this amplifies the audio signals.
Searching and storing stations
In TV mode, the stations can be found and stored using the following functions:
^ Automatic station search
^ Station search with station list
^ Tuning into station by selecting channel
^ Station selection via direct channel input
^ Station selection from the station memory
It is possible to store up to 12 stations.
AV mode
Two external devices can be connected to the TV system. Using the cursor at the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3), it is possible to select "AV1" or "AV2" from the menu field.
TV mute, function
The mute status (muting) of the audio sources is maintained if it was activated before switching off
Displaying mute status in the TV screen
If the mute status is set (muting), a mute symbol is displayed at the top right of the LCD color screen. It is necessary for the mute status to be transmitted to the TV combination tuner (analog/ digital) (A90/1) with a newly generated command so that the mute status can be displayed on the TV screen. The setting made last before turning the transmitter key (A8/1) to position 0 (circuit 15C) is adopted when the transmitter key (A8/1) is turned back to position 1 (circuit 15R ON).
Function of digital and analog TV reception
Using the TV combination tuner (analog/digital) (A90/1), it is possible not only to receive the analog TV stations, but also the terrestrial digital TV stations using the existing antenna structures in the rear window. The Digital Video Broadcasting-Terrestrial (DVB-T) standard is supported.
The TV combination tuner (analog/digital) (A90/1) automatically switches between analog and digital TV reception, depending on the particular reception status. The user cannot influence this. The switching can only be suppressed by the setting "CH-Fix". If two matching station names are received (e.g. ARD analog and digital), then only one entry is provided in the station list.
The introduction of the TV combination tuner (analog/digital) (A90/1) has changed nothing in the operating concept, i.e. the EPG (Electronic Program Guide) is not displayed. A digital station is only recognizable from a "+" next to the station name.
