SRS Indicator Lamp On

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles that the SRS light is illuminated and diagnostic fault code(s) B9183 and/or B91A3 are stored in the SRS ECU, the resistance of the circuit for the belt buckle tensioner squib may be too high. On Model 215, this high resistance may be caused by a malfunction in the seat belt ETR connector/left seat separation point (X28/8) or the seat belt ETR connector/right seat separation point (X28/9). On Model 220, this high resistance may be caused by a malfunction in the driver's seat buckle ETR connector separation point (X28/34) or the passenger seat buckle ETR connector separation point (X28/35). The malfunctioning connectors must be replaced with a repair kit. Please follow the below procedure to repair.

Note:
It is necessary to replace both the driver and passenger side connectors.

1. Remove ignition key.

2. Remove front seats, as per the following WIS document:

^ Model 215 - AR91.10-P-1000N

^ Model 220 - AR91.10-P-1000MB

Note:
Seat adjustment is still possible when the corresponding door is open, even though ignition key is removed.

3. Position seats on a suitable working surface.

4. Replace connector, based upon the model specific information listed below.
