COMAND Malfunction
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of COMAND turning on by itself when
1. Locking or unlocking the vehicle
2. Opening the trunk
3. Turning the lights on.
The COMAND unit may be in production mode". In order to verify if COMAND is in production mode, perform the following steps.
1. Make sure headlight switch in 0" position.
2. Make sure COMAND is turned off.
3. Wait until instrument cluster turns off.
4. Turn on the headlights.
5. If the COMAND unit turns on after switching on the headlights, the COMAND unit is in production mode and should be replaced.
Note:
The production mode is used during manufacturing for testing the units.
