GF82.35-P-3002PP Windshield Washer, Function
GF82.35-P-3002PP Windshield Washer, Function
MODELS 203.0 /2 /7 up to 23.4.04
Function prerequisites:
- Circuit 15R ON
Operating procedure
- The combination switch (S4), which is read in by the EIS control unit (N73) up to 30.6.03 or the steering column module (N80) as of 1.7.03 is pushed beyond the detent point,
- the signal is sent on the class B Controller Area Network bus (interior) (CAN-B),
- the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) receives this message,
- the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) actuates the wiper motor (M6/1) and the windshield washer fluid pump (M5/1).
- The windshield washer fluid pump (M5/1) is actuated for as long as the combination switch (S4) is pressed.
- When the combination switch (S4) is released the wiper motor (M6/1) shut-off delay feature is actuated. The number of cycles that are then performed depends on the combination switch (S4) actuation time:
- If the actuation time was less than 1 second, one additional wiping cycle is performed.
- If the actuation time was longer, three subsequent wiping cycles are performed. This also applies if the combination switch (S4) was pressed again during the subsequent wiping operation and the overall actuation time is therefore more than 1 second. If a new request is received after completion of these three subsequent wiping cycles, three additional wiping cycles are performed.
- After completion of the subsequent wiping operation , the wiper motor (M6/1) is stopped.
The wiper motor is actuated (M6/1) at stage 1 when the windshield is washed. The motor is only actuated at stage 2 if the wipers have been set to stage 2 and the windshield is washed at the same time.
Windshield washer fluid pump (M5/1) actuation
The windshield washer fluid pump (M5/1) is actuated directly by the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
The motor of the windshield washer fluid pump (M5/1) is switched to ground via an electronic switch (transistor) by the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) when washing .
In the event of overload, the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) shuts the windshield washer fluid pump (M5/1) off.
