Climate Control Exhaust Gas Sensor: Service and Repair



AR83.40-P-6730P Remove/Install Multifunction Sensor
- with CODE (581b) Convenience automatic air conditioning

DANGER:
- Injury Hazard! Windshield wiper mechanism can pinch, crush or, in extreme cases, even sever extremities
- Always remove ignition key when working on windshield wiper mechanism
- Risk of explosion from gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury from caustic burns to eyes and skin from battery electrolyte or from handling damaged lead-acid batteries
- No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking.
- Wear add-resistant gloves, clothing and eye protection. Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.


1 open engine hood
2 Open snap locks (1)
3 Loosen bolt (7a)
4 Turn bracket (7) slightly

CAUTION: Installation: ensure that the bracket (7) is correctly seated at the dust filter housing (2).

5 Remove dust filter housing (2)
6 Unscrew bolt (4)

- See "Special Tools" given below.

7 Remove C-AAC multifunction sensor (B31) from the water collector (3)

NOTE: Bend bracket (5) back slightly.

8 Disconnect connector from multi-function sensor
- convenience automatic air conditioning (B31)

9 Install in the reverse order.
