AR54.25-P-2803P Remove/Install Cruise Control Switch

DANGER:
- Risk of explosion from gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury) from caustic burns to eyes and skin from battery electrolyte or from handling damaged lead-acid batteries
- No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking.
- Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and eye protection. Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.


1 Connect quiescent current retention device

See "Commercially Available Tools" given below.

2 Disconnect ground cable of battery

DANGER:
- Risk of injury when carrying out test or repair work on airbag or emergency tensioning retractor units
- Store airbag unit with expulsion area on top, do not subject to temperatures above 100 degrees C. Interrupt power supply when working on such units.


3 Remove steering wheel
4 Remove contact spiral
5 Remove cover below instrument panel (on left)
6 Detach connector of CC switch from the electronic ignition/starter switch
7 Unscrew bolt (1)

8 Take CC switch (S40) out of steering column cover (2)
9 Install in the reverse order
10 Make electrical system operational

NOTE: Only if no quiescent current retention device was used.

11 Carry out operational check
