The wiper motor (M6/1) consists of the components motor and gear with cam switch :

Motor:
This motor is a DC motor with three brushes.
The wiper motor (M6/1) runs at different speeds depending on the power supply to the various pairs of brushes.
The power is supplied to the motor by two relays.

Cam switch
The cam switch is closed when the motor is not running. At the beginning of a wiping operation, the cam switch opens and closes again when the non-actuated position is reached again. In this manner, signal c. 31b is generated.
The c. 31b signal allows the connected control module to recognize:
^ whether the motor is operating correctly
^ whether the motor is locked up
^ whether the motor is in the non-actuated position.
