Anti-Block Device For Wiper Motor, Function

Anti-Block Device For Wiper Motor, Function

Lockup recognition
Lock up of the wiper motor (M6/1) is recognized by the driver-side SAM control module (N10/10) by the absence of signals from the cam switch.

Lock-up protection for function, wiping in stage 2
If the signal from the cam switch is not received for longer than 4 s, the driver-side SAM control module (N10/10) switches the wiper motor (M6/1) back to stage 1.

If the signal is still not received for another 8 s, the driver-side SAM control module (N10/10) switches off the wiper motor (M6/1).

If though during this 8 seconds a signal is received from the cam switch, the wiper motor (M6/1) is switched on again to stage 2.

Lock-up protection for functions One-touch wiping, Intermittent wiping, Washing and Wiping in stage 1
With these functions the driver-side SAM control module (N10/10) switches the wiper motor (M6/1) off, if signals from the cam switch are not received for longer than 12 s.

NOTE:
- In all cases, the lock-up protection is discontinued when
- the corresponding function is requested again by actuating the combination switch (S4) or
- c. 15R is switched on again.

If the wiper motor (M6/1) locks up again after discontinuation of the lock-up protection feature, it is switched off again as described above.
