Component Identification:
Various messages/information are indicated for the ABC in the multifunction displays in the instrument cluster and in the comfort and SPORT and level adjustment switches.
Turning on the ignition and starting the engine
When the ignition is switched on, the LEDs in the comfort and SPORT and level adjustment switches light up and when the engine is running indicate the setting selected prior to "ignition OFF".
Display evaluation
If a fault occurs in the ABC system, a message, depending on the priority of the fault, appears in the multifunction displays of the instrument cluster: "ABC GO TO WORKSHOP!" or "ABC DRIVE CAREFULLY!"
If no CAN data transfer is possible, the following message appears: "ABC GO TO WORKSHOP! DISPLAY FAULTY". The fault is stored in the ABC control module and can be retrieved using the diagnostic tool.
If the vehicle level is more than 64 mm below the normal level, the following warning appears in the multifunction display in the instrument cluster:
"ABC STOP, CAR TOO LOW!". The display disappears when the vehicle level returns to 64 mm below normal level.
Emergency running
If a fault occurs in the ABC system, the system is switched off. Depending on the type of fault, the system attempts to maintain at least some of its component functions. Manual and automatic level adjustment are no longer possible.
Component Identification:
ABC SPORT switch (N72s20)
The comfort and SPORT switch is used to switch between two performance maps. In the SPORT switch position the red indicator light (LED) in the switch (N72s7) lights up.
Level adjustment switch (N72s18)
It can be used to raise the vehicle level in 2 stages by 25 mm or 50 mm (USA 15 mm or 35 mm). Switch position high level is indicated by the red indicator lights (LEDs) in the switch (N72s18).
