Special Tools:

The measuring fixture set is designed in such a way, that the measuring bolts can be bolted together to match the vehicle's measuring points consisting of mounting bolts, extensions and measuring tips.

The configuration of the measuring bolts is shown in the table, where the numbers in the column headed "Measuring tip configuration" denote the special tool end numbers.
For example: 02/06/10 = 168 589 07 63 02 (support stud) 168 589 07 63 06 (extension) 168 589 07 63 10 (measuring tip)

Component Identification:

1 Measure reference dimension (H1) from check bore (K) to tie rod mounting on wheel carrier. Measure on the left and right side in each case.

Component Identification:

2 Measure comparison dimension (H2) from the check bore (K) to the centering point of the Torx(R) bolt head of the front bearing of the rear axle carrier. Measure on the left and right side in each case.

If necessary, unscrew and screw in Torx(R) bolts and check for deformation.

Component Identification:

3 Measure comparison dimension (H5) from the check bore (K) to the centering point of the Torx(R) bolt head of the rear bearing of the rear axle carrier. Measure on the left and right side in each case.

If necessary, unscrew and screw in Torx(R) bolts and check for deformation.

4 Measure distance dimension (H6) from the centering point of the Torx(R) bolt heads between the front bearings of the rear axle carrier.

5 Measure distance dimension (H7) from the centering point of the Torx(R) bolt heads between the rear bearings of the rear axle carrier.

6 Measure reference dimension (H9) diagonally from the centering point of the Torx(R) bolt heads to between the rear axle carrier's front and rear bearing. Measure on the left and right side in each case.
