GF83.40-P-2105-02R Automatic Air Conditioning Box Function

GF83.40-P-2105-02R Automatic Air Conditioning Box Function
- with CODE (581) Automatic air conditioning

Component Identification:

Heating mode

Function
The ducting of the air is separated into the left and right-hand sides.
In the heating mode fresh air (recirculated air) is drawn in by the blower motor (A32m1) as a result of the position of the fresh air and recirculated air flap motor (M16/21). The air cleaned by the all-purpose filter (2) is led through the cooled evaporator (3), where it is dried and cooled. Subsequently, the dried and cooled a (B) is heated up again in the heated heat exchanger (4) as a result of the position of the left and right blending air flap actuator motors (M16/28) and (M16/29).
The footwell flaps which are controlled by the left and right footwell flap actuator motors (M16/15) and (M16/16) are opened.

The heated air (C) is routed to the footwell vent air outlets. In this function, the left and right defroster vent flap actuator motors (M16/13) and M16/14) are slightly opened. In heating mode the diverter flap, which is actuated by the diverter flap actuator motor (M16/27), is opened slightly.
When going from heating mode to cooling mode (mode change) the left and right footwell fresh air actuator motors (M16/15) and (M16/16) start to close.
The condensation water is led to the outside condensation water drain.

Cooling mode

Component Identification:

Cooling mode
Function
In the cooling mode fresh air (A) is drawn in by the blower motor (A32m1) as a result of the position of the fresh air and recirculated air flap actuator motor (M16/21). The air cleaned by the all- purpose filter (2) is led through the cooled evaporator (3), where it is dried and cooled. Subsequently, the dried and cooled air (B) is routed past the heated heat exchanger (4) as a result of the position of the left and right blending air flap actuator motors (M16/28) and (M16/29).
The position of the actuator motors for the air flap, side vents at left and right (M16/25) and (M16/26) and the actuator motors for the air flaps, center vents left and right (M16/24) and (M16/25) determine how the cooled air is distributed to the center vents and side vents.

In cooling mode the diverter flap, which is operated by the diverter flap actuator motor (M16/27) and the footwell flaps, which are operated by the left and right footwell flap actuator motors (M16/15) and (M16/16) are closed.
The defroster vent flaps can be slightly opened by the left and right defroster vent flap actuator motors (M16/13) and (M16/14) if the outside air is dry. The other flaps can be operated manually. When going from cooling mode to heating mode (mode change) the left and right footwell flap actuator motors (M16/15) and (M16/16) start to open.
The condensation water is led to the outside condensation water drain.

Automatic air conditioning (AAC), normal operation

Component Identification:

Automatic air conditioning (AAC), normal operation
Function
In the normal operating mode fresh air (A) is drawn in by the blower motor (A32m1) as a result of the position of the fresh air and recirculated air flap actuator motor (M16/21). The air cleaned by the all-purpose filter (2) is led through the cooled evaporator (3), where it is dried and cooled. After this, part of the dried and cooled air (B) is heated up again in the heated heat exchanger (4) as a result of the position of the left and right blending air flap actuator motors (M16/28) and (M16/29). The remainder of the dried and cooled air is diverted past the heating system heat exchanger (4) and is blended with the heated air (C) to form blended air (D) downstream of the heating system heat exchanger (4).

The position of the left and right footwell flap actuator motors (M16/15) and (M16/16) serves to route the main quantity of blended air (D) to the footwell vents. The partial quantity of the blended air is blended further with cold air (regulated by the diverter flap actuator motor M16/27) and routed into the passenger compartment by the center vents and side vents thus achieving a stratification of the interior air (warm feet, cool head).
The defroster vent flaps can be slightly opened by the left and right defroster vent flap actuator motors (M16/13) and (M16/14) if the outside air is dry. The other flaps can be operated manually. The condensation water is led to the outside condensation water drain.

Automatic air conditioning, blended air operation with recirculated air

Component Identification:

Automatic air conditioning, blended air operation with recirculated air
Function
In blended air mode with recirculated air (LED illuminated) interior air is drawn in by the blower motor (A32m1) as a result of the position of the fresh air/recirculated air actuator motor (M16/21). The remaining dried and cooled air is diverted past the heating system heat exchanger (4) and is blended with the heated air (C) to form blended air (D) downstream of the heating system heat exchanger (4).
