Location
One cylinder under each of the right and left main bearings of the vario roof.

Task
Raising and lowering the folded vario roof in the trunk.

Design
Single-acting cylinder (rod-side pressure connection).

Function
When pressurized, the hydraulic cylinder rod retracts, lifting the folded vario roof. The load assist is lowered by halting the pressurization.
The folded vario roof moves down into the trunk under its own weight, forcing the hydraulic fluid out of the hydraulic cylinder.
