If you encounter instances in the R230 model where the left or right seat adjustment does not recall the stored memory positions, the easy entry and exit feature is inoperative, and or the rear storage area seat convenience feature is inoperative, perform the following repair procedure.

Note:
Enter into the following STAR Diagnosis menus in order to perform seat normalization. Control Unit Groups --> Seats & Doors --> Electric Seat Adjustment Front Left / Right --> Maintenance Operation, Control Module Adaptations --> Control Unit Adaptations --> Normalize Seat Adjustment.

Note:
When normalizing the seat function, all 6 adjustments must be performed. Seat Cushion Depth, Head Restraint, Forward/Backward, Height, Height at Front, and Backrest adjustment. Carefully read the Normalization requirements in order to normalize the seat in the correct sequence.

2) Using STAR Diagnosis adapt the obstruction protection.

Note:
Enter into the following STAR Diagnosis menus in order to perform seat normalization. Control Unit Groups --> Seats & Doors --> Electric Seat Adjustment Front Left / Right --> Maintenance Operation, Control Module Adaptations --> Control Unit Adaptations --> Adapt Obstruction Protection. Carefully read the requirements associated with this process in order to properly adapt the seat.

3) If after STAR Diagnosis normalization and adaption, the seat still continues to lose normalization, replace the seat control module for the affected side. Refer to WIS document AR91.29-P-0008R.

4) Using STAR Diagnosis normalize the new seat control module. Refer to instructions listed above.
