Trunk Lid Contacting Tail Lamp Assembly
If you encounter instances in the subject vehicles of the trunk lid contacting the tail lamp assemblies during Vano roof operation, perform the following operation.
1) Open the trunk lid.
2) Verify proper adjustment of Vano roof tubular frame catches. WIS document AR77.33-P-3460-01R.
Note:
If the tubular frame catches are readjusted, the trunk lid will also require adjustment. WIS document AR88.50-P-5200R.
3) Remove the left and right wedge stoppers from the trunk lid. (Figure 1)
4) Install updated wedge stoppers.
Note:
The updated wedge stoppers can be identified by a new 2 rib design compared to the previous 3 rib (Figure 2).
5) Verify proper orientation by applying chalk to the left and right wedge stoppers. WIS document AR88.50-P-5200R.
Note:
Ensure that the wedge stoppers are only contacting the accompanying bases and not the surrounding interior trim panels.
6) Close the trunk lid and verify that the gaps between the body panels are uniform and within specified tolerances. WIS document AR88.50-P-5200R.
7) Verify that the deck lid does not contact the tail lamp assemblies by operating the Vano roof.
