Component Identification:






Location
- The left door speaker group is located in the left door behind the door trim.
- The right door speaker group is located in the right door behind the door trim.
- The center cockpit speaker (Centerfill) is located in the top middle of the dashboard.
- The left rear speaker is located on the left at the rear wall behind the rear wall cover.
- The right rear speaker is located on the right of the rear wall behind the rear wall cover.
- The subwoofer speaker is located in the front passenger footwell under the carpet.

Receiving signals
Direct lines
- Electrical signals (frequencies) from the amplifier for sound system (N40/3) via direct lines

The audio signal for the subwoofer speaker is routed by the sound system amplifier over discrete lines to the subwoofer amplifier (N40/9) and from there, over discrete lines to the subwoofer speaker.

Converting signals
- Converting electrical signals (frequencies) into acoustic (audible) signals for the following actions:
- Voice output
- Handsfree
- Output of audio applications

The voice output during navigation, with code (527) COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation) or with code (512) COMAND APS with DVD changer, only takes place over the following speakers:
- Left door speaker group
- Right door speaker group
- Center cockpit speaker (centerfill)

Transmitting signals
No signals are transmitted in this sense.
Only acoustic (audible) signals are output, which are transmitted by means of sound waves.

Design
The left door speaker group is made up of the following two speakers:
- Tweeter (H4/1h1)
- Woofer (H4/1h2)
- Midrange speaker (H4/1h3)

The right door speaker group is made up of the following two speakers:
- Tweeter (H4/2h1)
- Woofer (H4/2h2)
- Midrange speaker (H4/2h3)
