Driver-side SAM Control Module With Fuse and Relay Module, Task
The driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) is responsible for actuating the:
- Wiper system
- Windshield washer system
- Headlamp cleaning system
- Exterior lights
- Steering column adjustment
- AC compressor
- Air suspension wakeup signal
- Fanfare horns
- Footwell illumination
Reading in the following switches:
- Exterior lamp switch (S1)
- Brake fluid indicator switch (S11)
- Parking brake indicator switch (S12)
- Coolant level indicator switch (S41)
- Windshield washer fluid level indicator switch (S42)
Scanning the following sensors:
- Refrigerant pressure and temperature sensor (B12/2)
- Outside temperature display temperature sensor (B14)
- Accelerator pedal sensor (B37)
Scanning the following signals:
- Circuit 61 (the pre-exciter current is generated in the SAM by a series resistor)
- Left front brake pad contact sensor (S10/1)
- Right front brake pad contact sensor (S10/2)
- Left rear brake pad contact sensor (S10/3)
- Right rear brake pad contact sensor (S10/4)
Scanning the following signals:
- Circuit 15
- Circuit 15R
- Circuit 31b (Wiper motor cam controller)
Switching consumers via semiconductor switches (if equipped):
- Lamps of exterior lights
- Lamps of the interior lights
- HCS pump (M5/2)
- Wiper motor (M6/1)
- Heat exchanger shutoff motor (M16/32)
- Electric air pump (M33)
- SEQ hydraulic pump (M46)
- Control unit box blower motor (M2/2)
- Washer nozzle heater (R2/1)
- Washer nozzle hose heater (R2/11)
- Stop lamp switch (S9/1)
- Refrigerant compressor (A9)
Switching the following relays (if equipped):
- Circuit 15 relay (N10/1kN)

- SEQ pump control relay (N10/1kM)
- Air pump/oil cooler fan relay (N10/1kR)

The driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) is linked with the interior CAN for the purpose of data exchange.
