Cruise Control Switch: Service and Repair
AR54.25-P-2803T Remove/Install Cruise Control Switch
DANGER:
- Risk of explosion from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury; through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries
- No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking. Wear protective gloves, acid-resistant clothing and safety glasses. Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.
1 Disconnect ground cable of battery
NOTE: Do not connect quiescent current retention unit.
DANGER:
- Risk of injury. Injuries may result when performing testing or repair work on airbag or emergency tensioning retractor units.
- Store airbag unit with expulsion area on top, do not subject to temperatures above 100 degree C. When working on these units, disconnect the power supply.
2 Remove steering wheel
CAUTION: Instructions for performing repair, body work and welding on vehicles with airbags and emergency tensioning retractors
3 Remove clock spring contact
4 Take cruise control pushbutton switch (S40) out of steering column switch module (1)
5 Install in the reverse order
6 Perform basic programming
7 Read out DTC memory
8 Check for proper function
