Calling Up the Correct Service Item

Service Item Menu

To determine the actual "Service Items" required (Serv. 1-20 and additional work), you must call up the "Service Menu" in the multifunction display.

Note: Shown on E-Class (211), other models similar.

Multifunction Operating Controls:

- Switch on the ignition.
- Press the system selection button (S110s3) repeatedly until the odometer reading or temperature is displayed in the multifunction display (A1p13).

Service Indicator Display:

- Press the scroll forward/back button (S110s1) repeatedly until the service indicator appears in the multifunction display (A1p13).

- Press the trip odometer reset button (A1s3) briefly 3 times until the "SERVICE MENU" is displayed.

Note: As of 9-1-2003, an acoustic signal can be heard and the voltage is shown in the multifunction display.

Service Menu Positions Screen:

- Press the + or - buttons, adjustment of specific functions and volume control (S111s1) repeatedly until "Positions" is highlighted.
- Confirm selection with the system selection button (S110s3).
Read off and note service items to be performed.
- Press the system selection button (S110s3) repeatedly until the odometer reading or temperature is displayed in the multifunction display (A1p13).
- Switch off ignition.
