AP42.00-P-4281T Replace Brake Fluid, Check Preload Pressure of Reservoir
Replace Brake Fluid, Check Preload Pressure Of Pressure Reservoir
DANGER:
- Risk of injury, body parts may become jammed or crushed. Risk of injury, skin and eyes may be injured due to brake fluid spraying out at high pressure when working on the SBC brake system
- Deactivate SBC brake system using STAR DIAGNOSIS.
- Risk of poisoning from swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury from brake fluid coming into contact with skin and eyes.
- Pour brake fluid only into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid.
- Risk of death. Death may result if vehicle slips or topples from the lifting platform.
- Align vehicle between the columns of the hydraulic hoist and position the four support plates below the hoist support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.
CAUTION:
- See brake fluid notes
- See notes on repairs to brake system
1 Connect battery charger.
NOTE: It must be possible to raise the vehicle with the battery charger connected.
2 Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS diagnosis system
NOTE: It must be possible to raise the vehicle with the STAR DIAGNOSIS diagnosis system connected.
3 Call up the routine for determining the preload pressure of the pressure reservoir (1) and read out the preload pressure
NOTE:
- Follow the instructions on the STAR DIAGNOSIS diagnosis system.
- If the preload pressure of the pressure reservoir (1) determined is outside the specified scatter then replace the pressure reservoir (1).
4 Take off cover (2)
5 Unscrew cap (3) of brake fluid reservoir (4)
6 Extract brake fluid from brake fluid reservoir (4)
7 Fill new brake fluid up to the "MAX" mark of the brake fluid reservoir (4)
8 Connect brake fluid reservoir changing equipment
CAUTION:
- Pay attention to manufacturer's operating instructions.
- Bleed pressure ≥ 2 bar.
9 Lift vehicle with lifting platform
10 Call up routine for changing brake fluid and carry out bleeding process
CAUTION: Secure bleed hose by means of special tool EHB adapter to prevent if from slipping off the bleed screw.
NOTE: Follow the instructions on the STAR DIAGNOSIS diagnosis system.
