Campaign - Front Door Module Replacement

REPLACE LEFT FRONT DOOR CONTROL MODULE (N69/1)
AFTER TESTING





DCAG has determined that in certain Model 211 vehicles, the left front door control module (N69/1) (Figure 1) may have to be replaced after determining that the listed functions" may not be performed properly: Window lift, exterior mirror adjustment, trunk lid unlocking, comfort closing (window closes with remote control) and seat adjustment.

Most of the vehicles affected by this Service Campaign were checked/repaired at the VPC. Unfortunately, 24 vehicles left the VPC before the information concerning this Service Campaign was received. Please review the Effective Serial Number Range" table. The specific affected vehicles are noted ("flagged") in VMI.

Please perform this Service Campaign the next time the affected vehicle is in the workshop for service. Please check VMI before performing this Service Campaign.

Please perform the left front door control module testing as outlined.





Effective Serial Number Range

LEFT FRONT DOOR CONTROL MODULE TESTING PROCEDURE

1. Prior to performing this Service Campaign, please review the entire document.

2. Connect the affected vehicle to the Star Diagnosis System (SDS).

3. Start the diagnosis session.

4. Select Model 211, then select "Control Units".

5. Next select "Seats and Doors".

6. Select "Left Front Door Control Module".

7. Select "Maintenance work".

8. Next select "Control Module version".

9. Compare the production date indicated on the screen with the dates listed below.

Note:
If the production date of the left front door control module matches one of the dates noted in the list above, please replace the door control module, as indicated below. Otherwise no further steps are required.

REPLACING THE LEFT FRONT DOOR CONTROL MODULE AFTER DETERMINING PRODUCTION DATE

1. Prior to performing this service campaign, please review the following WIS documents:

AR72.10-P-1000T (Remove/Install door lining on front door) and AR72.29-P-1000T (Remove/Install front door control module).

2. After determining that the left front door control module needs to be replaced, connect SDS and select "Read Version Coding" and transfer to new control module.

3. Remove the left front door trim panel, see WIS document:
AR72.10-P-1000T.

4. Once the door panel has been removed, proceed to remove the left front door control module, see WIS document: AR72.29-P-1000T.

5. After installing the replacement left front door control module, it must be version coded using the Star Diagnosis system (SDS), by transferring the version coding to the new door control module (as done in Step 2 above).

6. After completing the version coding of the left front door control module, perform a quick test.

7. Re-install the previously removed left front door trim panel, see WIS document: AR72.10-P-1000T.

8. Additionally, please perform a function test (refer to described "functions" at the beginning of this bulletin) to ensure the door control module functions correctly.
