Body - Water Drips Into trunk With Trunk Lid Open

Water Drips Into Trunk When Trunk Lid Is Open

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of water dripping into the trunk from the middle and side of trunk lid license plate panel with the trunk lid open, please perform the following procedure applicable to the identified VIN ranges.

Up to A098266

1. Close unused mounting holes with plugs.

2. Remove trunk lid license plate panel, refer to WIS document no. AR88.50-P-5080T.

3. Check trunk lid license plate panel for damage.

4. Clean trunk lid license plate panel in the stamped area for gluing the foam insert.





5. Cut a 100 mm x30 mm piece of foam (Figure 1, 1) using scissors.

6. Align and glue foam (Figure 1, 1) in the stamped area of the trunk lid license plate panel.

7. Reinstall trunk lid license plate panel, refer to WIS document no. AR88.50-P-5080T.

From A098267 up to A190000

1. Close unused mounting holes with plugs.

2. Remove trunk lid license plate panel, refer to WIS document no. AR88.50-P-5080T.

3. Inspect trunk lid license plate panel for damage to panel seal and correct if possible.

4. If not, replace trunk lid license plate panel, only the newest version is available. Must be painted prior to installation.

5. Reinstall trunk lid license plate panel, refer to WIS document no. AR88.50-P-5080T.
