GF82.60-P-2003TB Volume/Tone Adjustments, Function

GF82.60-P-2003TB Volume/Tone Adjustments, Function

All the volume and tone settings are made at the radio control
panel (A2) and transmitted via the MOST fiber optical cable ring to the audio gateway control module (N93/1). A distinction is made between audio and service sources.

Audio sources are:
^ Radio
^ CD player

Service sources include:
^ Traffic radio announcements
^ Telephone [CTEL]

Volume setting
The volume setting is controlled at the rotary controller of the radio operating module (A2) for the audio source adjusted in each case. In addition, this can be set separately in all the audio and service areas (telephone, traffic information radio channel). Via the Traffic Program Volume (TPV) softkey assignment, it is possible to increase or decrease the volume for the traffic information.
Using the RESET-function, predefined settings for the sound parameters including volume can be selected and reset to the factory settings.

GAL/ DRO
The noise level in the vehicle interior is adapted via the speed-dependent volume control (GAL) and the automatic vehicle interior noise adaptation Dynamic Range Optimization (DRO)

The vehicle speed signal and the signal input at the sound amplifier microphone (B25/6) are used here as the relationship indicator.

Mute (volume reduction)
If the user presses the "Mute" function key, the audio source currently being listened to is muted and the CC and Audio CD disk drives go into pause status. The muting function status can also be triggered automatically.
The following mutings are possible:
^ TAXI-MUTE
^ TEL-MUTE
^ TELEAID-MUTE
^ DOOR-SENSOR-MUTE
^ TP MUTE

If a telephone installed during production, the radio switches to telephone mode in the event of a call and the audio source is muted.

Tone setting
The radio control panel (A2) permits manual tone settings (bass, treble, balance, fader) for each audio source.
The "AUDIO" function status can be reached from every other function status, except "AUTO-ON".
In display field 2, the bass is displayed as the first tone setting called up.
Pressing the "AUDIO" function key calls up the further tone controls: treble, balance (left/right), fader (front/rear), TPV (volume increase for traffic announcements).
The messages of the "AUDIO" function status are output in display field 1. The tone control only relates to the active system function status.
For a change in the sound priority (balance, fader) the ratio of the volume of the individual speakers changes.
The "Balance", "Fading" settings are to be attained by pressing the main function button for sound distribution in the left control panel.

The signal processing required for the volume and tone settings is carried out by the audio components integrated in audio gateway control module (N93/1).

If the vehicle is equipped with the "sound" audio gateway control module, additional space sound adjustments and a further final amplification of the audio signals are possible through the digital sound processor (DSP2) with its expanded sound processing stage and amplifier stage.
