The number of after wipe processes depends on the time for which the combination switch (S4) is operated. Afterwiping is active as soon as the combination switch (S4) is no longer actuated and after the current wipe cycle has ended.

If the windshield washer fluid pump (M5/1) is requested for the operating time t < 1 s, a single after wipe follows. If within the after wipe period a new wash is actuated, then the overall time of the active windshield washer fluid pump (M5/1) is added up; a triple after wipe is then performed.

If the switch is pressed for more than 1 second for the first time, a triple after wipe is performed. If within the after wipe period a new wash is actuated, then a triple after wipe is always performed. If after wipe is active during stage 2, then an after wipe is also performed in stage 2.
If after wipe is active during stage 1 or intermittent wiping, then an after wipe is performed in stage 1; the same applies when the combination switch (S4) is in the park position.
