Rear Side Window Does Not Drop Down Enough When the Door Is Opened or Makes

Noise at Seal to Front Door Glass

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles that the rear side window does not drop down enough when the door is opened or makes noise where it seals against the front door glass, this may be due to the rear window lifter cable stretching. This can be adjusted as follows.

For Coupe

1. With SDS select Main groups --> Functions covering all control modules --> Door systems.

2. Set short stroke position on left rear window with SDS, select Rear left power window --> RCM - Rear control module --> Control unit adaptations --> Set short stroke position of left rear window and continue to follow steps in SDS to adjust stroke length if necessary.

3. Set short stroke position on right rear window with SDS by returning to Control unit adaptations and then selecting Set short stroke position on right rear window and continue to follow steps in SDS to adjust stroke length if necessary.

For Cabriolet

1. With SDS select Main groups ~ Functions covering all control modules --> Door systems.

2. Set short stroke position on left rear window with roof open with SDS, select RVC - Rollover bar soft top control module --> Control unit adaptations --> Setting short stroke position of left rear window: Vano roof open --> and continue to follow steps in SDS to adjust stroke length if necessary.

3. Set short stroke position on right rear window with roof open with SDS by returning to Control unit adaptations and the selecting Setting short stroke position of right rear window: Vano roof open --> and continue to follow steps in SDS to adjust stroke length if necessary.

4. Set short stroke position on left rear window with roof closed with SDS by returning to Control unit adaptations and the selecting Setting short stroke position of left rear window: Vano roof closed --> and continue to follow steps in SDS to adjust stroke length if necessary.

5. Set short stroke position on right rear window with roof closed with SDS by returning to Control unit adaptations and the selecting Setting short stroke position of right rear window : Vano roof closed --> and continue to follow steps in SDS to adjust stroke length if necessary.

For both the Coupe and the Cabriolet, the short stroke position between the upper front window and trim strip of the bar seal may be a maximum of 20 mm, in this case the front door lock is in the 1st detent (Figure 1).
