Front Door Window Motor: Service and Repair

AR72.29-P-1860Q Remove/Install Front Door Power Window Motor







DANGER!
Risk of explosion from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries
- No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking.
- Wear protective gloves, acid-resistant clothing and safety glasses. Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

1 Disconnect ground cable of battery
2 Remove door liner
3 Remove front door loudspeakers

NOTE: Remove only left front door speaker (H4/1), right front door speaker (H4/2)

4 Detach door foil in assembly area and attach using adhesive tape

NOTE:
- Carefully detach door foil and check thoroughly for damage, replace if necessary
- Installation: Press on door foil using roller.

- Roller, See Special Tools below

5 Check butyl cord at door support, if necessary install new butyl cord

CAUTION!
Defective butyl cord causes leakage.

6 Disconnect connector (2)
7 Unscrew bolts (3)
8 Pry off left front power window motor (M10/3), right front power window motor (M10/4) from power window

NOTE:
Installation: Counterhold mount of power window motor

- Long wedge, See Special Tools below

9 Install in the reverse order
10 Perform basic programming
11 Read diagnostic trouble code memory and erase
12 Check for proper function
