AR33.20-P-0320P Disassemble/Assemble Front Wheel Hub



Dismantle, Assemble Front Wheel Hub



















1 Remove front wheel hub
2 Drive out inside tapered roller bearing (91) and radial oil seal (9a).

NOTE:
- The wheelspeed sensor's reluctor is integrated within the radial oil seal (9a), which should thus always be replaced.
- Use drift (05) to drive out inside tapered roller bearing (91) and radial seal ring (9a).

3 Press tapered roller bearing outer race out of outer tapered roller bearing (9c)

NOTE: Press out tapered roller bearing outer race from outer tapered roller bearing (9c) using bench press and drift punch (05a).

4 Press tapered roller bearing outer race from inner tapered roller bearing (9b)

NOTE: Press out tapered roller bearing outer race from inner tapered roller bearing (9b) using installation tool (06d) and a suitable punch.

5 Clean tapered roller bearing and front wheel hub.
6 Inspect tapered roller bearing and bearing races
7 Inspect front wheel hub

NOTE: Inspect threaded holes for damage.

8 Pull tapered roller bearing outer race on inner tapered roller bearing (9b) and tapered roller bearing outer race for outer tapered roller bearing (9c) into the front wheel hub

NOTE:
- Pull tapered roller bearing outer race on inner tapered roller bearing (9b) and tapered roller bearing outer race on outer tapered roller bearing (9c) into front hub using installation tool (06b, 06c).
- The grooves in the bronze friction ring serve as the running contact surface and must be positioned opposite the second friction ring.

9 Insert inner tapered roller bearing (91) in the front wheel hub.

NOTE: Grease inner tapered roller bearing (91) prior to installation.

10 Pull in radial oil seal (9a)

NOTE:
- Never use metallic tools on the wheelspeed sensor's reluctor, which is integrated within the radial oil seal (9a).
- Instead, always use the rubber-coated side of the installation tool (06a).
- Use installation tool (06a, 06b) to pull radial oil seal (9a) into the front hub until it seats.
- The running surfaces of the radial oil seal (9a) and the area between the extruded edge seal and dust seal should be coated and filled with grease.

11 Fill wheel hub with grease.
