Engine Performance
If you encounter instances in the above model vehicles of lack of engine performance complaints in connection with codes P2004, P2085, P2086 and / or P2087 or rough idle, power, hesitation complaints (hot or cold), perform the following procedure.
As of SDS version 05/2002 in addition to the following known test for air mass sensor, an additional test is now available to test the signal voltage.
The test can be accessed in SDS by selecting the following menu:
- "Engine"
- Select Model
- "Control Units"
- "Drive"
- "ME2-SFI - Motor Electronics"
- "Actual Values"
- "Test Engine at Idle Speed"
Test Values
618 HFM SF1 voltage (engine at idle speed): 1.200 to 1.700V
618 HFM SF1 voltage (engine not running): 0.980 to 1.030V
Please refer to the test values on the SDS screen.
Note:
The air mass sensor must only be replaced if the actual values are not within specification.
