Humidity Sensor: Service and Repair



AR83.40-P-6740Q Remove/Install Air Humidity Sensor
- without CODE (581b) Convenience automatic air conditioning







DANGER:
- Risk of explosion from electrolytic gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury with caustic burns to eyes and skin from battery electrolyte or from handling damaged lead-acid batteries
- No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking.
- Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and eye protection. Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.
- Risk of injury by trapping or crushing, in extreme cases with loss of limbs when working on windshield wiper mechanism
- Always remove ignition key when working on windshield wiper mechanism.


1 Disconnect ground cable of battery
2 Open engine hood
3 Remove air humidity sensor (B31/2)

NOTE: Rotate air humidity sensor (B31/2) through 90 degrees in direction of arrow and remove.

4 Detach coupling from air humidity sensor (B31/2)

CAUTION: Do not allow electric cable to slip into evaporator housing.

5 Install in the reverse order.
6 Read diagnostic trouble code memory and erase
7 Perform basic programming.
