Removal and Replacement



AR82.61-P-7412P Remove/Install APS Radio and Navigation Operating Unit
- with CODE (353) Audio 30 APS







DANGER:
Risk of explosion from gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury from caustic burns to eyes and skin from battery electrolyte or from handling damaged lead-acid batteries
- No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking.
- Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and eye protection. Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers


1 Connect quiescent current retention device

See "Commercially Available Tools" given below.

2 Disconnect ground cable of battery
3 Remove cover from center console
4 Unscrew bolts

See "Special Tool" given below.

5 Pull out radio and navigation operating unit (A2/29)
6 Separate fiber optic cable connector (3)

CAUTION: Do not kink or stretch D2B fiber optic cable.

NOTE: Fit fiber optic cable connector and radio connection with caps.

7 Disconnect connectors (4)
8 Install in the reverse order
9 Read diagnostic trouble code memory and erase
- Stored faults which may be caused by disconnecting cables or by simulation during removal and installation or test operations, must be processed and erased in the fault memories after completing the operations.

10 Make electrical system operational
