GF82.95-P-2005QU Emergency Call Telegram Transmission, Function
- with CODE (349) E Call emergency call system

After an Emergency-Call emergency call has been triggered (automatically or manually), an emergency call telegram is prepared by the E-call control unit (A35/8) and then passed on to the E-Call Center via mobile phone.

In the case of an emergency call the E-call control unit (A35/8) takes over sole control of the telephone system in order to ensure the following:
^ If the phone was switched off before triggering the emergency alarm, it must be activated.
^ An existing telephone connection is interrupted.
^ It is no longer possible to operate the telephone using the portable CTEL (A34/6).

The two-way radio connection is made via the E-call control unit (A35/8) using the telephone antenna (A2/22).
Should the telephone antenna (A2/22) no longer be capable of functioning as the result of an accident, the E-call control unit (A35/8) automatically switches over to the Emergency Call backup antenna (A2/50).
The E-call center receives the emergency call. For this purpose it is equipped with a graphic-capable workstation with road data base. The location of the vehicle is determined there from the information from, among other sources, the emergency call telegram. The E- Call Center then passes on the decoded emergency call telegram to the responsible rescue headquarters (police, fire department etc.).

The emergency call system must be authorized for transferring an emergency call telegram.
