- with CODE (349) E Call emergency call system
- with CODE (498) Japanese version
After an emergency call has been triggered (automatically or manually) the E-call control module (A35/8) generates an alarm call telegram which is ultimately sent via CTEL phone to the E-call Center.
In the case of an emergency call, the E-call control module (A35/8) has the sole control of the telephone system, in order to ensure the following:
^ if the telephone was switched off before the triggering of the alarm call, it must be activated
^ an existing telephone connection is interrupted
^ operation of the telephone with the aid of the portable CTEL (A34/6) is no longer possible.
the phone connection is created via the E-call control module (A35/8) using the phone antenna (A2/22).
If the CTEL antenna (A2/22) is no longer functioning as the result of an accident, the E-call control module (A35/8) switches automatically over to the emergency call backup antennae (A2/50). The E-CALL center receives the emergency call. For this purpose it is equipped with a graphic-capable work station with road data base. There, among others, the location of the vehicle is determined from the information of the emergency call telegram. The E-call center relays the decoded emergency call telegram to the responsible rescue center (police, fire department, etc.).
The emergency call system must be authorized to transmit an emergency call telegram.
