After an emergency call is triggered, the D2B telephone and TELE AID transmitter/receiver (A35/17) automatically generates an emergency call telegram. It includes the following information:
^ Location of the vehicle (degrees longitude and latitude)
^ Type of emergency call actuation (automatic or manual with the SOS pushbutton switch (S93/3))
^ Crash parameters from restraint systems control unit (N2/7)
^ Identification number for identifying vehicle
^ Time of emergency call

The emergency call telegram is transmitted to the service provider via mobile telephone (D-net) and is automatically decoded there.

Up to 3 emergency call telegrams are stored in the D2B telephone and TELE AID transmitter/receiver (A35/17). If more than 3 emergency call telegrams are stored, the oldest telegram is written over.
