A prerequisite for using the service is a communication module of the emergency call system control unit (N123/4) authorized for the corresponding service. In other words, the communication module of the emergency call system control unit (N123/4) must have been factory-configured with the phone number of the corresponding service provider. In a second step, the user must authorize himself in the Service Center using this phone number.

The telematics services are activated by pressing the corresponding button in the MB-Info and breakdown assistance button group (S93/6) or for a manual emergency call by pressing the SOS pushbutton switch (S93/3) in the overhead control panel control unit (N70). After activation, an SMS is sent to the Service Center by the emergency call system control unit (N123/4). At the same time as the SMS is sent, a voice connection to the service center is established immediately.
