Reason for block

Complaint:

When the engine is started, fault code P2034 is stored in the engine control unit and the engine diagnosis warning lamp lights up.

Cause:

When the engine is started, a fault may be detected in the crankshaft sensor.

The freeze frame data of fault code P2034 includes the following actual values:

Vehicle speed: 0 km/h

Engine speed: 0 rpm

Time since engine start: 0 min

The cause is the camshaft sensor with part number A 004 153 9628 that was installed in production in the period from July 2004 to July 2005

If the fault occurs in vehicles produced before July 2004, the remedy described below also applies.

Remedy:

Program engine control unit.

Note:
The crankshaft sensor and camshaft sensor must not be replaced.
