Parking Brake - Adjusting Cable Slack Adjuster

Remove, Install


DANGER:
- Risk of fatal accident from vehicle slipping or toppling off the lift platform
- Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Inspect
1 Depress parking brake pedal with a force of approx. 170 N

NOTE: If the parking brake pedal can be depressed by more than 5 notches: Perform steps 2 to 6.

2.1 Fold back rear seat cushion
2.2 Remove rear seat cushion
3 Remove cover (1)
4 Correct lengthening of parking brake cables (85, 86)

NOTE: To do this, tighten nut (89) two turns and re-check parking brake pedal travel. If necessary, tighten the nut (89) further until the parking brake pedal can be depressed by 5 notches when operated with a force of approx. 5 N.

5 Check that the rear wheels can turn freely
6 Install in the reverse order
