Function requirements
^ No overvoltage or undervoltage and
^ terminal 15 ON or
^ Circuit 15 ON and
^ The overhead control panel control unit (N70) recognized the non-actuated state before actuating SR switch (N70s1) (SR switch (N70s1) was not actuated for longer than 40 ms).

Open the sliding roof manually by pressing SR switch (N70s1) rearward to the catch point, the pop-up roof can be opened manually by pressing the SR switch (N70s1) rearward at the top to the catch point. During manual opening, the SR motor (M12m1) is actuated by the overhead control panel control unit (N70) only as long as the SR switch (N70s1) is actuated in the opening direction and the end position of the tilting/sliding roof is not recognized.

Automatic opening function (except vehicles as of model year 09 /YoM 08 with code (494) USA version or code (460) Canada version)
The sliding roof can be opened automatically by pushing the SR switch (N70s1) rearward beyond the catch point, the pop-up roof can be opened automatically by pressing the SR switch (N70s1) rearward at the top beyond the catch point.

Automatic opening is interrupted:

^ recognition of lockup.

After circuit 15 OFF or circuit 15R OFF and doors kept closed, the tilting/sliding roof can be opened and closed with the SR switch (N70s1) for another 5 minutes. The valid status (door open or door closed) is transmitted by the left door contact switch (S17/3) and right door contact switch (S17/4) to the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2), which relays the information via the interior CAN (CAN B).

When a door is opened, it is no longer possible to actuate the tilting/sliding roof using the SR switch (N70s1).
