Component Identification:

Function prerequisites
^ No overvoltage or undervoltage
^ All doors closed (status: unlocked) and
^ circuit 15c Off and
^ press unlocking button on remote control key (A8/1) for longer than 1 s.

Function
When the unlocking button on the remote control key (A8/1) is actuated, the request for convenience opening via the left front IR receiver unit (A26/1) is transferred to the left door control module (N69/1) or via the right front IR receiver unit (A26/2) (only United States of America and Japan) to the right door control module (N69/2). The left door control module (N69/1) or right door control module (N69/2) forwards the request for convenience opening via the CAN class B bus to the EIS control module (N73).

When the remote control key (A8/1) is recognized, the EIS control module (N73) sends a request for convenience opening to the overhead control panel control module (N70) which then actuates the SR motor (M12m1).
The motor is actuated in the "Open" direction as long as the locking button on the remote control key (A8/1) is pressed.

The convenience opening function for the sliding/pop-up roof is aborted if
^ the request is no longer received via the CAN class B bus or
^ the sliding/pop-up roof is locked up or
^ the function prerequisites listed are no longer fulfilled.

The convenience opening function also opens the windows.
