Function
The mirror heater (M21/1r1, M21/2r1) consists of one heating resistor each located on a foil on the rear of the mirror glass. The power supply and regulated switch on and switch off of the heating resistors is accomplished by the left door control unit (N69/1) or right door control unit (N69/2).
For this purpose, they receive a message via CAN-B (CAN) by the front SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/1). The heating resistors are switched on and off depending on the outside temperature measured with the outside temperature indicator temperature sensor (B14).
The mirror heater (M21/1r1, M21/2r1) is switched on at an outdoor temperature of below 15 °C and switched off at an outdoor temperature of above 18 °C. If the outside temperature value received via CAN-B (CAN) is implausible, the mirror heater (M21/1r1, M21/2r1) is switched on.
