Removal and Replacement

Remove/Install Propeller Shaft Intermediate Bearing and Replacing Grooved Ball Bearing






Remove/Install
1 Remove propeller shaft
2 Separate front propeller shaft with slide connection (1a) from rear propeller shaft (2) at the slide connection

NOTE: Installation: Assemble propeller shaft Coat splined profile with Molykote grease.

3 Pull rubber boot (4) off front propeller shaft

NOTE: Installation: Replace damaged rubber boot (4) and ensure correct fit.

4 Pull off rubber mount (7b) with grooved ball bearing (8)

NOTE: Installation: Press rubber mount (7b) with grooved ball bearing onto linkage arm.

5 Press grooved ball bearing (8) out of rubber mount (7b) of propeller shaft

Inspect
6 Check rubber boot (4), rubber mount (7b) and grooved ball bearing (8) for wear

NOTE: Replace parts if necessary.

7 Install in the reverse order.
