Remove/Install Inside CV Joint Or Rubber Boots On Rear Axle Shaft







Remove
1 Remove rear axle shaft (37a)
2 Remove hose clamps (37k)
3 Remove end cover (37h) and cup seal (37i) at joint ring (37c)
4 Pull off inner rubber boot (37l) with cup seal (37i)
5 Press off inner constant velocity joint (37c to 37f) on the rear axle shaft
6 Pull off outer rubber boot (37m)

NOTE: The outer boot of the rear axle shaft on the outer joint ring can only be replaced after disassembling the inner ring joint as the outer joint cannot be disassembled.

Inspect
7 Disassemble inner constant-velocity joint (37c - 37f), check for wear

Install
8 Wipe grease off the inside of the boot (37m) and pack CV joint (37b) with grease, replace existing grease if necessary
- Pay attention to fuel quantity.

9 Pull on outer rubber boot (37m)
10 Pull on inner rubber boot (37l) with cup seal (37i)
11 Press inner constant-velocity joint (37c - 37f) on at the rear axle shaft
12 Caulk inner CV joint to rear axle shaft (37a)
13 Install end cover (37h) and cup seal (37i) at joint ring (37c)

NOTE: Replace end cover.

14 Fit hose clamps (37k)

NOTE: Replace hose clamps.

15 Install rear axle shaft (37a).
