Evaporator Temperature Sensor / Switch: Description and Operation

The evaporator temperature sensor measures the evaporator temperature

The evaporator temperature sensor is located in the air flow behind the evaporator. It transfers the resistance value measured depending on the temperature at the evaporator to the automatic A/C pushbutton control module.
At an evaporator temperature of 0 °C the A/C compressor is switched off by the automatic A/C pushbutton control module via the CAN bus and left signal acquisition and actuation module. This prevents the evaporator from icing up.
