Air Injection Pump: Service and Repair

Remove/Install Air Pump

Illustrated On Model 203.474:

Remove/Install

DANGER:
- Lethal injuries are possible if vehicle slips off of lifting platform
- Align vehicle between the four pillars of the hoist and position the four support plates at the hoist mounting points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

1 Remove engine compartment paneling (A2) below radiator on outer right

NOTE: Engine compartment paneling radiator on outside left and right can be pulled out of bumper and radiator engine compartment paneling Can be removed separately.

2 Unbolt air pump (1) from bracket (3) together with air pump mount (2)

NOTE: Unscrew nuts (4) from threaded bolts for this purpose.

- Nut of air pump bracket to body = 4 Nm

3 Lift out air pump (1)
4 Detach secondary air injection hose at hose connection (5) of air pump (1)
5 Unplug connector of electrical connection (6) at air pump (1)
6 Take air pump (1) off air pump mount (2)

NOTE:
- Installation: Inspect rubber bearing bushes for damage.
- Unscrew torx bolts (7) at air pump (1) for this purpose.

- Bolt of air pump to bracket = 7.6 Nm

7 Install in the reverse order
