The remaining time is the time which is displayed in vehicles with low annual mileage on reaching the warning threshold. This is dependent on the startup time.
Startup time
The startup time refers to the service interval in days immediately following the oil change.
The startup time is not dependent on the driving conditions or any possible oil top-ups.
The startup time is 730 days ((J) 365 days).
The startup time is automatically reset to its initial value by the oil change reset following each oil change. The startup time is an internal operand, and cannot be displayed in the instrument cluster (A1). The starting distance can only be displayed with STAR DIAGNOSIS.
Remaining time
The remaining distance is displayed in the instrument cluster (A1). It is the time that remains until the next service. The remaining time is only relevant in the case of vehicles with low annual mileage. The remaining distance is generally displayed.
The remaining time is dependent:
- on the startup time
- on the driving conditions
Topping the oil up has no influence on the remaining time.
These dependencies have shown the Active Service System (ASSYST) also matches the requirements of a vehicle with a low annual driven distance. Depending on evaluation, the service interval in the case of these vehicles is between one and two years.
Warning threshold (in days)
With STAR DIAGNOSIS, a warning threshold of between 5 and 30 days, with an increment of one day, can be set for the remaining time. The basic adjustment is 30 days.
