Throttle Cable/Linkage: Service and Repair



Removing and Installing Throttle Control Cable

Removing, installing
1 Disconnect accelerator control cable (30) at ball head
2 Compress plastic clip (30/4) and pull out of fixed lever (10) together with accelerator control cable
3 Remove footwell trim
4.1 Release accelerator control cable mount (arrow) at accelerator pedal lever (33)
- On engine 111.943/944/973/975, 112.921/941, 119.981/982/985, 120.982/983,606.961:


NOTE: Remove bracket (37) for this purpose.


5 Push accelerator control cable (30) to the outside from inside the car


NOTE: Do not press out rubber grommet (30/6).


6 Take out accelerator control cable (30) completely, working from the engine compartment


NOTE: Potentiometer relay lever (31/1) with spring. At WOT stop the accelerator pedal lever travel is enlarged by the spring being compressed. This makes it possible to operate the kickdown switch.


7 Install in the reverse order
8 Check accelerator control, adjust
