Shell halves (2 ea.) for pressing off and caulking the inner constant velocity joint.

Special Tools:








1 Measure and note distance (a) from end face of propeller shaft to constant velocity joint. Distance (a) is usually approx. 4.0 mm to 4.3 mm.

Component Identification:





Pressing off
2 Press off constant velocity joint using the shop-made shell halves (063a) and the drift (063).
3 Clean constant velocity joints.





Pressing on
4 Fit constant velocity joint on rear axle shaft so that the collar (arrow) points towards the center of the rear axle shaft.

Component Identification:





5 Mount the clamping jaws (067) on the boot collar of the rear axle shaft (arrow).

Component Identification:





6 Place rear axle shaft with clamping jaws (067) on the press.
7 Press on constant velocity joint all the way using drift (063).





8 Press on constant velocity joint using a suitable tube until the previously measured and noted distance (a) has been reached.

Dimension (a) is usually approx. 4.0 mm to 4.3 mm.
